Is the metal accessible?
Items should be placed outside or in an easily accessible area such as a driveway, yard, garage, or side of the house whenever possible.
We ask that items not be left in the alley or back lane, except for possibly when pickup is scheduled for 'that day', this is because sometimes items left in the back alley are considered 'free game' and they may be picked up by someone else before we get there. A lot of effort is put into arranging scheduling and logistics, so your understanding is greatly appreciated in this request.
Is there a reasonable amount of metal?
Free pickups are usually available when there is enough scrap metal to make the trip worthwhile.
Can you send photos?
Photos help us quickly confirm whether your pickup qualifies for free removal and allows us to schedule jobs more efficiently.
Before Requesting a Pickup
How our metal removal service works.
We aim to make scrap metal removal simple and straightforward. Here’s how the process works.
1️⃣ Contact Us
Most residential & commercial removals are free.
Please complete our Intake Form for fastest response time and to find out if your removal qualifies for free pickup.
Include as much detail as possible about your items, accessibility and removal needs.
Save yourself a step - send photos with inquiry.
If not included in initial request, photos will generally be requested in our follow-up to help confirm the scope and accessibility of your removal needs.
2️⃣ Review & Confirmation
After reviewing your intake form, we may ask for additional information or photos to better understand the scope & accessibility of the job.
We'll confirm if there are any fees involved prior to booking.
If the items are:
• Easily accessible
• Not labour intensive
• Contain enough scrap metal to make the trip worthwhile
• Located along a planned pickup route,
then the pickup will usually qualify for free removal.
We will confirm the day we plan to be in your area and schedule the pickup.
3️⃣ Pickup Scheduling
Free pickups are scheduled along our regular service routes.
This means you may need to wait up to 1 week or more in some cases until we are in your area in order to provide you with a FREE removal.
If a pickup is required immediately or is outside our normal route, a pickup fee will be applied to same or next-day pick-ups if we were not already logistically scheduled to be in your area.
4️⃣ Scrap Metal Removal
On the scheduled day, we will arrive and remove the scrap metal items.
For most free pickups, the metal simply needs to be placed all together in one pile and be outside in a conveniently
accessible location, such as:
• A driveway
• Side of house
• Yard
• Garage
No one needs to be present at time of removal if the items are accessible and no special considerations are present.

Disassembly & DecomessioningServices
Some items require additional labor to safely remove.
Examples include:
• Shelving units
• Workout equipment
• Larger metal structures
There will be a disassembly fee applied to labour intensive requests.
Move-Out Service
If metal items need to be removed from inside a residence, there is a $50 per item fee.
Additional charges may apply for:
• Multiple flights of stairs
• Heavier or more labor-intensive removals
Commercial
& Contractor Pickups
Businesses and Contractors often generate large amounts of scrap metals.
Because these jobs usually involve larger loads and longer pickup times, a $50 baseline service fee may apply depending on the scope of the job.

Why Some Pickups Have Fees
Many people are surprised to learn that scrap metal often has very low value.
For example, common scrap steel currently averages around $0.09 per pound, which means items like BBQs may only be worth $3–5 in scrap value.
Our business works because we collect large quantities of metal across many pickups. Smaller pickups or jobs that require additional travel or labour may include service fees to help cover fuel & operating costs.
